The vehicle spring-suspension system comprises a leaf spring, between whose ends the axle is mounted. One spring end bears against a hydraulic and/or pneumatic load-distribution system acting between it and the chassis. This comprises a filled flexible bellows whose working surface area varies with its length. The bellows (16) is mounted directly between part of the chassis (1) and an arm (13) hinging on the latter and clear of the spring (10). The bellows acts on the lever in the downwards direction, so as to thrust it away from the chassis on extension. The top surface of the spring slides against the underside of the arm, the spring length increasing with that of the bellows.
