发明名称 HIGH REFLECTIVITY OPTICAL GUIDE
摘要 PURPOSE: To easily and cost effectively form a light guide having high reflectivity to a wide range of wavelengths by footing a laminate of alternate layers which have the second refractive index not equal to a first refractive index and a second layer thickness and reflect incident light. CONSTITUTION: A tubular body wall in has a wall thickness 20 and is formed of the many first layers 22 consisting of the first refractive index R1 and the first layer thickness 24. The first layers 22 are adjacent to the second layers 26 having a second layer thickness 28 and consisting of the second material having the second refractive index R2 and are alternated with the layers 22. The second refractive index R2 is made as small as possible so as to generate the largest possible difference from the first refractive index R1 . Refraction arises at the boundary between the two layers. Both of the first layers 22 and the second layers 26 may be of solid materials and the materials of both layers are flexible. As a result, the wall material for use in a light guide system having the high reflectivity is produced by the cost effective and simple production stages.
