PURPOSE:To make uniform strip thickness in width direction of a cast strip continuously cast and to maintain the sheet shape to good by adjusting thermal expansion at both end parts of water cooled rolls and uniformly controlling the strip thickness over the whole width of interval between the water cooled rolls during casting. CONSTITUTION:Difference of the sheet thickness between center part and both parts of the sheet steel W, is detected with a sheet shape detector 4 to transmit a signal to a current controller 5. The controller 5 controls heater block 3 of the water cooled roll 1 in accordance with the signal from the detector 4 and both parts of the water cooled roll 1 are heated and expanded, to maintain the shape thereof and the interval over the whole width of both rolls 1 is made to equal. As the sheet shape of the cast strip is varied at every moments during casting, always the shape is detected with the detector 4 to transmit to the controller 5. The controller 5 adjusts calorific power of the block 3 in the roll 1 by this value, and the thermal expansion rate of both end parts of the roll 1 is adjusted to control the shape and the sheet shape of the cast strip is maintained to good. |
