PURPOSE:To actuate a shutter automatically by the moving and retreating of an obstacle by metering again without releasing a shutter when distance information indicates that a distance is shorter than the specified distance and releasing the shutter when two pieces of distance information almost agree with each other, in self-timer operation. CONSTITUTION:When the self-timer is set and started, a metering operation acts to obtain information on the distance between the object and the camera, and the value, as AF 1, is stored in a control part. Then, the self-timer starts operation to obtain subsequent information on distance at the moment when ten-second stand-by time has passed, and similarly the value is stored in the control part as AF 2. When the AF 2 agrees with the AF 1, the obstacle is judged to have moved or retreated from the position ahead of the object; then, a photographing lens is driven to the specified focusing position, and photographing is performed. Thus, an object such as a person is securely and automatically photographed even in a crowded place. |
