<p>PURPOSE:To make effective use of the waste gas and temp. of respective furnaces in a method for charging iron ore cooled after preliminary reduction together with a carbonaceous material, slag forming agent and oxygen into a melt reduction furnace by using the gas of the preliminary reduction furnace for heating up the waste gas of said furnace. CONSTITUTION:The iron ore reduction preliminarily in the fluidized bed type preliminary reduction furnace 1 is cooled by a cooler 8 and is charged together with the carbonaceous material, slag forming agent, oxygen, etc., by a carrier gas into the melt reduction furnace 2 from the bottom thereof to produce molten M.Fe. The waste gas C discharged from the upper part of the furnace 2 in this stage is cooled by a heat exchanger 5 and is cooled after the gas is compressed by a compressor. CO2 is removed from said gas in a decarburization device 6 and thereafter the gas is supplied to a heat exchanger 4. The waste gas here is subjected to a heat exchange with the waste gas B which is heated to a high temp. by the partial self combustion of the waste gas A from the furnace 1 by the theoretical combustion oxygen supplied by a self-combustion type heater 3. The gas is then supplied as the heated waste gas D from the lower part of the furnace 1.</p> |
