PURPOSE:To obtain an image high in image quality even after successive copying by coating a toner feeder with a specified resin and applying bias voltage lower in voltage by 0 - 500 V than a toner conveyor. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the toner feeder is coated with the resin obtained by cross-linking with polyisocyanate the copolymer of a monomer represented by formula I in an amount of 20 - 40 wt.%, the monomer of formula II and the monomer of formula III in a II/III weight ratio of (80:20) - (20:80), and the bias voltage lower than that fed to the toner conveyor by 0 - 500V is applied to the toner feeder. In formulae I - III, R1 is H or methyl; R2 is 1 - 8C alkyl; R3 is H or methyl; and (x) is 2 or 3, thus permitting the toner to be triboelectrified sufficiently negatively, melt attaching of the toner to the toner feeder to be prevented, and high-quality images free from background stains to be obtained even after making a number of copies. |
