PURPOSE:To prevent surface defect on a cast billet by setting oscillating device for oscillating mold unit containing a mold in horizontal drawing direction. CONSTITUTION:A feeding nozzle 10 is fixed to the mold 8 with bolts through a fitting metal 13. Then, an oscillation carriage 3 is shifted toward the (b) direction by working a cylinder 7 for oscillation and after closely bringing the feeding nozzle 10 into contact with an elbow nozzle 9, the mold 8 and the feeding nozzle 10, and the elbow nozzle 9 and a slide plate 17 are combined with the bolts through fittings 14, 18, to integrate the mold unit 4. Under this condition, the molten metal is cooled in the mold 8 after passing through inner part of the pouring nozzle 16, sliding plate 17, elbow nozzle 9 and the feeding nozzle 10 from a tundish 1, and continuously drawn with rolls 24 for drawing the cast billet. Then, as the casting unit 4 is continuously oscillated in the (a) direction by working a cylinder 7 for oscillation, the cast billet does not develop the surface defect, because the relative position thereof to the mold 8 is always varied. |
