PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, containing a specific amount of a quaternary ammonium salt as an active ingredient and further an amino acid and excellent in imparting good brushability and softness to animals, especially animals of long hair species, such as dog or cat. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by containing one or two or more quaternary ammonium salts expressed by formula I [R1 is 10-24C alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl or R(OCH2CH2)n (R is 10-24C alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl; n is 1-10); R3 and R4 are 1-3C alkyl or formula II (R5 is R or methyl; m is 1-5), benzyl or cinnamyl; R3 and R4 may be mutually the same and different; R2 has the same meaning as that of R1 or R3 and R4; X is halogen or 1-2C alkylsulfuric acid group] in an amount of 0.1-10wt.%, preferably 0.5-5wt.% based on the total composition, one or two or more of amino acids and preferably further a protein. |
