The improvements are applicable to that type of box, made from plastic material, which forms rigid walls intended to contain perishable or similar products and said improvements are based on the fact that, in correspondence with each one of the corners of the base 2 of the box 1, provision has been made for individual columns 4 capable of occupying two positions, one which is retractable and accommodated in a cavity 3 in said base, formed, at each corner, in the diagonal direction, and another in a vertical position, for which said column 4 has two weakened areas 7 and 8 each forming hinges which allow the column 4 to pass from its retractable and inoperative position into the aforesaid vertical position in order to allow, in the first case, the stacking of empty boxes, these being inserted in one another, and, in the second case, the stacking of full boxes, these resting one upon the other by means of the corresponding columns 4.
