PURPOSE:To easily recognize the actual distance in displayed map information by displaying a circle which has its radius at the specified distance around the vehicle position regardless of scales into the map information. CONSTITUTION:The vehicle position display device by which the map information near, for example, the vehicle position is displayed on the screen 2a of a display device 2 by at least plural stages of scales displays the circle (a) having its radius at the specified distance around the vehicle position (x) regardless of the scales in the map information of the screen 2a. The user of this device is, therefore, able to have a rough conjecture of the distance of roads, etc., up to the destination displayed on a map merely by viewing the size of this circle. The distance from an arbitrary point in the map from the vehicle position is easily recognized in this way regardless of the scale of the displayed map. |
