PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material excellent is the water resis tance of a background and an image part and improved in image preservability by using a ternary or more copolymer having a fundamental skeleton consisting of isobutylene and maleic anhydride. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material consisting of an aromatic isocyanate compound and an imino compound, a ternary or more copolymer having a fundamental skeleton consisting of isobutylene and maleic anhydride is used. By this method, the thermal recording material excellent in the water resistance of a background and an image part and improved in image preservability can be obtained. As an embodiment of this copolymer, a ternary copolymer of isobutylene, maleic anhydride and styrene, a ternary copolymer of isobutylene, maleic anhydride and methyl acrylate and a ternary copolymer of isobutylene, maleic anhidride and ethyl acrylate are designated. This copolymer is pref. added in an amount of 1-50% by wt. of the total solid forming a thermal recording layer excepting the copolymer. |
