A device comprising a tube that can form an extension of the barrel, that carries a hinged loading plate with rotational motion or circular translation; this permits the barrel of actual field mortars to be lengthened, since it solves the problem of raising the projectile to the muzzle of the weapon. It has a damping device for the motion of the loading plate and a system for holding the projectile on the said plate, that liberates it when the device is in the correct loading position. The device is connected to the barrel of the gun by a screw or a strap [with lowering], and permits loading to be facilitated in the case of large barrels and simultaneously increases the range if it is used as an extension of the barrel. <IMAGE>
