It applies to the stacking of sheets of paper impregnated with synthetic phenol/formol and melanin/formol resins in order to place them on a stacking table, with staggering along the length and width of the papers being achieved automatically. It comprises a stacking table and a longitudinal clamp, which can be displaced horizontally, which clamps the sheets of paper supplied from stackers located in front of the clamp at different heights. In the path of the clamp for locating the sheets of paper in the stacked position on the corresponding table there are stops which act according to a programme in order to stagger the sheets of paper or groups of sheets of paper. <IMAGE>
