Said improvements centre, on the one hand, on the uses of hollow rotors provided with a plurality of blades defining multiple channels via which cooling air, coming directly from the outside, is circulated, the hollow interior of the rotors being in communication, in turn, with grooves which exist in the stator, in turn for cooling the latter. On the other hand, the flow of cooling air is mixed in cylinders (carboys) with the residual gases from the exhaust and the resulting fluid, at high pressure and temperature, acts on an auxiliary turbine wedged on the actual drive shaft, connected to the latter via a reducing planetary system and capable of disengaging from said shaft both when the vehicle is started up and when the latter is idling (ticking over).
