PURPOSE:To form automatically a sprue to a casting mold by attaching a sprue cutter and finishing cutter to the position right under a casting mold in the direction perpendicular thereto, moving a sprue forming machine which can rotate 90 deg. and rotating and moving upward both cutters. CONSTITUTION:The casting mold 50 molded by a molding machine is upset and a piston rod 5a is advanced by a piston 5 to move a carriage 3 attached by a bracket 7 to the position right under the mold 50. A sprue cutter 38 is then rotated by a motor 25 and a lifting table 11 is gradually risen by a lifting cylinder 10 to advance the sprue cutter 38 attached thereto into the mold 50, thereby cutting the sprue 51. A gear box 28 which supports the cutter is rotated 90 deg. to position the sprue cutter 38 in a horizontal direction and the finishing cutter 43 in the vertical direction. The cutter 43 is risen in the sprue 51 while the cutter is rotated in succession thereto so as to be penetrated through the preliminarily formed vertical sprue 51. The sprue is thus completed. |
