PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of a rotary electric machine by inclining the direction of cooling medium which is injected from the spider side of a rotor to an air gap side oppositely to the rotating direction of the rotor, thereby reducing the air power loss of the medium. CONSTITUTION:The outer peripheral surface of a rotor 18 is formed together with the outer peripheral surface of a pole core 10 between the poles 9 of the rotor 18, and when cooling air which passes between the poles 9 is injected to an air gap 20, a guide cover 21 which is made of nonmagnetic material formed to incline oppositely to the rotating direction of the rotor 18 is formed over the entire length of the pole 9. Thus, cold air which is introduced to the bore side of a rotor spider 2 is padded through an air duct 4 and between the poles 9 into the air gap 20, and further through the air duct 15 of a stator 19 to cool the field coil 11 and the stator coil 16, and since the cooling air injected from the air gap 20 is inclined oppositely to the rotating direction of the rotor 18 by a guide cover 21, the angular velocity can be reduced, and the air power loss at the air gap 20 to the duct 15 can be reduced. |
