PURPOSE:To allow a heat accumulation which has a wide range of applications by using an azeotropic mixture comprising a plurality of constituents, water for one, as the operating medium which accumulates heat by making use of a reaction between the operating medium and a chemical substance or the phenomenon of heat absorption and release incidental to the phase change. CONSTITUTION:The heat is accumulated by making use of a chemical reaction. Under the heat accumulation mode, the operating medium 5 and a chemical substance 6 are physically separated from each other by a closed valve 4. Under the heat release mode, the valve 4 is opened to connect both the spaces, whereupon heat is generated, and the temperature up, due to the reaction with the chemical substance 6 in the container B, while, in the container A, the heat is absorbed by the evaporation of the operating medium 5 to cause the temperature to drop. Therefore, up to the point of the completion of the reaction, the coldness is made available on the container A side, and the hot heat on the container B side, for service. For an operating medium 5, an azeotropic mixture comprising water and 2-diethylaminoethanol is used, and, for a chemical substance 6, an active charcoal adsorber is used. |
