PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition giving an optical memory disk, etc., having excellent heat-resistance, moisture-resistance and mechanical strength and small birefringence by uniformly mixing a specific aromatic polycarbonate and a specific polystyrene derivative. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin composition is a uniform blend mixture of (A) an aromatic polycarbonate of formula I (preferably having a number- average molecular weight of 10,000-100,000) and (B) a polystyrene derivative of formula II (n is 0.01-0.2; m+n=1) (preferably having a number-average molecular weight of 10,000-300,000). The blending ratio of A:B is 90:10-50:50 by weight. The component B can be produced by reacting a polystyrene with hexafluoroacetone. |
