The rear-view mirror is of the type which comprises a casing 1 which can be folded with respect to the base of a support 2 secured to the vehicle, casing and support being urged mutually by tension (traction) springs 3. The improvements consist in incorporating two brackets 4 on the base of the support 2 with horizontal cam profiles on which is guided the dorsal vertical edge 5 of the casing 1, each of said brackets 4 having notches 6 for stably fixing the casing in the folded-down, parking position. The anchoring points of the springs 3 are movable and defined by elongate holes 7. The casing 1 is folded down around a vertical border of the base of the support 2 on which rests a ramp 9 of the casing 1, the support being varied by means of studs 10 on the casing 1 which make contact with a fixed partition of the support 2. <IMAGE>
