An alarm comprises a diaphragm (8) which extends obliquely from a rear wall of the watch to a side wall. The diaphragm is secured to a piezo-electric element and forms a resonance space with the rear and side walls with each wall having a round emitting aperture. The piezo-electric element oscillates at the time of alarm acting as a buzzer. The sound emitting apertures are positioned so that they are not covered by the users wrist.
