The tube in which color can be varied includes an outer tube (11) coated with a fluorescent material, an inner tube (12) inserted into the outer tube and coated with a different fluorescent material, a first electrode (15) depositing on one end of the outer tube, a second electrode (16) composed of transparant conductive thin film which encloses the outer tube acting as a common electrode, a third electrode (17) depositing on one end of the inner tube (12), and getters (16,18) absorbing the noxious gas or inpurities generated in the tubes. The color is selected by applying the voltage to the first or the third electrode.
