<p>PURPOSE:To improve suction distribution ability in an engine where separate suction passages of each cylinder are connected with apertures provided along the length of a suction collecting passage at intervals, and providing a step for deflecting suction currents in a collected suction passage just on the upstream of the aperture positioned for the uppermost current of the suction currents. CONSTITUTION:An intake manifold 12 of type V engine comprises separate suction passages 35 each composed of six branch tube parts corresponding to each cylinder of a right and a left bank, and a right and a left suction collecting passage 36, 37 for collecting the separate suction passages 35 for each bank. In this case, Entrance aperture parts 36a, 37a of the suction collecting passages 36, 37 are provided in an upper part of the front side end part of the intake manifold 12, and the suction collecting passages 36, 37 are extended horizontally from the entrance aperture parts 36a, 37a back. They are curved down almost just over an aperture 38 of the separate suction passage 35 positioned on the most upstream side in the suction collecting passages 36, 37 to form step parts 36b, 37b.</p> |
