The invention relates to a way of fixing rates making it possible to obtain the premium and various other elements from a basic document which can be held on a "calling card" format, without any calculation other than an addition which can be carried out mentally. In order to calculate a premium and the relating information, the user need only add up points corresponding to the various parameters (Table 1), and read the results from a table (Table 2).
