CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF HOT CURE TYPE SILICONE RUBBER COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To obtain a product stable timewise rationally in a short time by previously obtaining composition which contains the fundamental constitutional components of hot cure type silicone rubber and substantially has uniformity as powder and thereafter continuously supplying this powder to a unidirectional biaxial extruder. CONSTITUTION:A fundamental constitutional component is constituted of a polydiorganosiloxane having at least 1 X 10<5> cP viscosity at 25 deg.C, an inorganic filler and a working agent. The component is sent to a weighing tank T1 by the feed pumps P1-P3 and supplied to a mixer M1 after measurement. Preliminary mixing is performed by imparting strong mechanical shearing action to the supplied material by a high-speed rotary blade. Silicone rubber powder having free fluidity obtained in such a way is discharged to a mixture feeding hopper T2 of a unidirectional biaxial extruder M2 and continuously supplied to the extruder M2 at constant amount via a quantitative belt feeder F1. This silicone rubber powder introduced into the extruder 2 is kneaded in the inside thereof and silicone rubber compound is obtained in an extremely short time.
