The invention relates to a device for cutting tubes, including at least one cutter 4 which interacts at the end of cutting with a counterpart termed hereafter anvil (bedplate) 5, which is arranged inside the tube 1 to be cut, whereas it is connected mechanically to a free core 6 of high magnetic permeability, a winding 8 being arranged to create a magnetic field in the said free core 6 through the tube 1 to be cut, so as to be able to act magnetically on the longitudinal position of the said free core and therefore on that of the anvil (bedplate) 5. The device according to the invention is noteworthy in that the winding 8 is arranged around a core 9 which is fixed with respect to the said winding and whose axis is arranged parallel and at a distance from the longitudinal axis of the tube 1 to be cut, the said fixed core 9 being provided at its ends with extensions 10a, 10b which extend towards the said tube 1 and which are provided with recesses 13a, 13b for the passage of the latter, so that the said extensions surround the said tube at least in part around two zones which are spaced apart by a length which is substantially close to that of the free core so that the magnetic flux created by the winding 8 may be routed into the fixed core 9, the said extensions 10a, 10b and the free core 6. <IMAGE>
