PURPOSE:To stop power supply not only to a spindle motor but to a signal processing circuit including a recording circuit and to prevent the occurrence of malfunction during charging of a strobo lighting section by using a control means so as to stop the power supply to a signal processing circuit including a motor for driving a magnetic disk during operation of a charge means of an electronic camera. CONSTITUTION:A charge circuit 31 of a strobo means 17 of an electronic camera 1 charges for lighting. Moreover, a signal from an image pickup means 15 is subject to signal processing by a signal processing circuit 16 under the control of a system controller 36 of a control means 18 and recorded on a magnetic disk 12. The power supply to the means 17 and the power supply to the signal processing circuit 16 is controlled by a controller 36 and the power supply to a motor 29 for driving the magnetic disk 12 is stopped by the controller 36 during charging the means 17, to prevent malfunction of the electronic camera.
