Device for spreading substances having at least two fixing members 28, 29 for mounting the spreading device on a carrying device, the fixing members being separated from one another transversely to the normal operating direction, each of the fixing members having means 41, 42 for coupling the fixing members to the carrying device, characterised in that at least one of the means 41, 42 can move heightwise with respect to the chassis and to the other means for mounting the spreading device on the carrying device selectively in a normal operating position in which the spreading device sprays the substance over equal distances on both sides of the spreading device, or in a position which is inclined with respect to the carrying device for spreading the substance on one side of the spreading device over a spreading width which is different from that on the other side. <IMAGE>
