The present invention concerns a device for distributing metered quantities of a substance into a liquid, the said substance being solid and soluble in the said liquid, the said device comprising a means forming a receptacle 18 for the said substance, and being adapted to be placed on a main tubing 15 through which the liquid passes, the said device being characterised in that it additionally comprises a means 13 for removing the liquid from the main tubing and introducing it to the said device, a means forming a reserve 19 for the liquid once the latter is saturated with substance to be dissolved, and a means 14 for discharging the said saturated liquid towards the said main tubing. The device according to the invention is intended more particularly to be placed on the main tubing connecting a water flush apparatus to a corresponding plumbing installation. The substance to be dissolved is a disinfectant and/or deodorising substance and/or a fragrance and/or a cleaner. <IMAGE>
