This machine is noteworthy in that it comprises a support frame 10 defining, on the inside, a parallelepipedal volume constituting the work zone for the assembly of a cover on a receptacle, - the said frame being arranged in its lower part to receive a means 6 for conveying a receptacle transported according to a step-by-step advance; - the said frame being arranged in its top part laterally with a magazine 4 for storing the covers 2 presented vertically in the folded position; - the said frame being arranged opposite the magazine with an extractor device 15 permitting the removal of the covers one by one; - the said frame also being arranged opposite the magazine and on either side of the extractor device with articulated means capable of shaping and holding the cover via its lateral sides; - the said frame being arranged in its lower part with means holding the receptacle in position. <IMAGE>
