PURPOSE:To reduce resistance caused by directional change of molten metal flow and to prevent the development of vortex flow in the pouring flow from happening by projecting corner part in the construction at lower end part of flowing passage contacting with an inclined plate of a nozzle toward the inner side thereof to make it the curved face. CONSTITUTION:At the time of continuously direct-casting a cast strip from the molten metal, the molten metal in a tundish is supplied into pouring basin part formed at gap between one pair of cooling rolls by using the nozzle 1 through the inclined plate 2. For this purpose, the lower end of the pouring nozzle 1 fitted below the tundish is abutted on the upper part face of the inclined plate 2 and the side directing flow down direction at the lower end of the nozzle 1 is cut. By this constitution, discharged spouting flow is always made to uniform stationary laminar flow downward. Further, decrease of the molten metal flow near roll width is supplemented by a slit opening cut along the circumferential direction and vertical openings cut toward the generating line direction at the upper part side of both side ends of the slit opening in the discharging hole 4 of the nozzle 1. Therefore, the strip having wide width can be directly produced at high yield. |
