PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the individual setting of various modes by a photographer and to speedily cope with the type of an object or change in photographing intention by automatically setting other photographic odes by interlocking the selection of a range finding mode. CONSTITUTION:A focal point detecting area 8 provided on the center of an object is divided into three areas A1-1C, and they are corresponded to their respective focal point detecting zones A1-1C set on a photoelectric element array with 1:1 respectively. The amount of defocusing and direction are computed at every focal point detecting area. For example, when one of shortest distance, medium distance, and long distance modes is selected, the optimum combination of plural control modes such as photometry exposure control, film carrying, determined in advance by interlocking the range finding mode, is automatically set. Thus, the optimum photographing result can be surely and easily obtained only by selecting the range finding mode. |
