A human cytotoxic T-cell clone with significant cytotoxicity against hepatocytes from patients with type non-A non-B virus hepatitis but not against hepatocytes from patients with type B virus hepatitis and an antibody against this cell clone. The human cytotoxic T-cell clone and antibody threto according to the present invention can contribute to the diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment of type non-A non-B hepatitis.
