The invention relates to a self-centring and stabilizing tarpaulin stand fastening, especially intended for commercial vehicles. It is made up of a tarpaulin side- pole 10A and a specially configured roof edge profile 20. The tarpaulin side-pole 10A, which at its upper end, inter alia, is provided with a clamping lug 13, two bends 14,15 and two slide wheels 12, can be pushed along, locked against or angled perpendicular to the roof edge profile 20, which for this purpose, inter alia, is provided with specially configured walls 21,22,24,27 and a locking lug 23. The tarpaulin side-pole 10A is at its lower end preferably fastened to a knee joint 10B, which in turn is connected to the top part of a flap pole 10C.
