The safety control apparatus is for an electrically-driven refrigerating compressor and has a sensor indicating the operating condition of the refrigerating system to a processor. The signals from the sensor fall in a certain operating range when operating normally and before starting up of the compressor. On a fault in the sensor, the processor emits an alarm signal to a safety device when it records the sensor signal, before starting the compressor.
