PURPOSE:To prepare a microcapsule in a good yield with good particle size distribution by a method wherein a solution of a core substance solid at ambient temp. containing a responsive component and a colorant is granulated through a pore and a solvent is subsequently distilled off to form a wall material. CONSTITUTION:In preparing the transfer recording medium and microcapsule of a printer or copier, a solution of a core substance solid at ambient temp. containing a responsive component changing in its transfer characteristics by the application of light and heat energies and a colorant is passed through pores 54 having a diameter of 50mum or less to be granulated. In this granulation, a plastic film 51 to which the pores 54 are formed by a photolithographic reactive ion etching technique is used. Thereafter, the solvent of the solution such as chloroform is distilled off to form a wall material composed of gelatin-gum arabic. By this method, microcapsules having a particle size of 25mum or less are prepared with good particle size distribution. |
