A printing unit for a flexographic printing machine with an individual or single impression cylinder (10) comprises a plate cylinder (9) and an inking cylinder (11) which are mounted slidably on a frame (2) by means of supports (16, 25). To make it easier for the cylinders (9, 10, 11) to be moved and to be positioned relative to one another, the supports (16, 25), arranged on the same side of the longitudinal mid-plane of the web support to be printed, are mounted on the same guide shaft (17) fixed to the frame (2), and their movement is ensured by common means (36) for controlling a rapid approach and removal, to obtain the engagement and disengagement of the cylinders (9, 10, 11) relative to one another. <IMAGE>
