Equipment comprises of two pairs of sensors installed at the ends of an escalator (moving stairs). Each pair of sensors is connected to one summation unit the outputs of which are connected through a crossbar switch to fetching and defetching inputs of a decade-set reversible counter and a binary reversible counter. The binary output of the binary recover counter is connected to a recorder through a digital- analogue converter. The decade-set counter output is connected to a phase curtain the output of which is connected to a third counter. To the decade output of the reversible decade counter a zero setting circuit is connected through its input the output of which is connected to the zero setting inputs of both reversible counters.<IMAGE>
