The sealing element comprises a first generally U-shaped member (28) having an outer wall (40) and an inner wall (54). The outer wall (40) is shaped sustaining to form an outer guide for a movable vehicle window (12). A second generally U-shaped member (56) is provided having a pair of legs (62-64) which are spaced by a distance sufficient to receive the inner wall (54) of the first U-shaped member and a mounting flange (38) in order to clamp the inner wall and the mounting flange together. The outer guide of the window is relatively thin, permitting a substantially flush mounting of the window.
