PURPOSE:To easily obtain a heating roller capable of controlling the surface of a roll drum at a uniform temperature and especially near the middle part of the drum at a definite temperature by forming a thermal medium flowing channel and a thermal medium feeding channel having specific shapes in a shaft fitting in the cylindrical outer layer member. CONSTITUTION:The objective hot calender roll is composed of a cylindrical outer-layer member 1 made of an abrasion-resistant material and a shaft member 2 fitting into the outer-layer member. Spiral grooves 3, 4 (5, 6) directing from the middle to both ends are formed on the outer circumference of the shaft member 2. Thermal medium feeding channels 7, 8 are extended through the center of the shaft member 2 along the axial direction and are radially extended at the middle part of the shaft member 2 and connected to the grooves 3, 4 (5, 6). Both ends of the shaft member 2 are provided with thermal medium discharging channels 9, 10 composed of a radial channel connected to the grooves 3, 4 and an axial channel connected to the radial channel. |
