PURPOSE:To produce feather yarn which leaves feather touch and is readily processable by connecting a plurality of feather bones to one another and removing the hones of the bound feathers and nipping the remaining feathers with a plurality of core yarns and twisting the core yarns so that the feathers are held with the twisted yarn. CONSTITUTION:The bones 1 of plural feathers 3 are bound to each other to form a bound feather 43. The bound feather is passed through roller 12 and tension roller 13 and cut into feather 2 and bones 1 with a round blade at the roller 5 and the bones are removed. The remaining feathers 43 are held with a plurality of core yarns 21a, 21b, 34a, 34b, and adhesive yarns 31a, 31b, 40a and 40b. Then, the core yarns and adhesive yarns are twisted to form a twisted yarn 4 whereby the feathers 2 are held between the twisted yarn 4 and adhesive yarns 31a, 31b, 40a and 40b. Then, the adhesive yarns are melted to bond the feathers 2 to the twisted yarn 4 to give the objective feather yarn 42. |
