PURPOSE:To detect a defect and wall thickness in every direction by providing a probe for detecting a defect in the oblique direction in addition to probe for detecting a defect and wall thickness in the tube axis direction and the peripheral direction of the surface and the inside of a metallic conduit. CONSTITUTION:Defects (c), (d) in the direction inclined against a tube axis of a metallic conduit H are detected by each one pair of oblique angle probes 5-5, 5'-5' which are placed in the vertical direction against these defects (c), (d) and placed in the direction inclined against the tube axis. In such a way, by placing a vertical probe 4 for detecting wall thickness, oblique angle probes 2-2 for detecting a defect in the vertical direction against the tube axis, oblique angle probes 3-3 for detecting a defect in the parallel direction, and two pairs of oblique angle probes 5-5, 5'-5' for detecting a defect in the inclined direction in a cylindrical body part 11, a defect turned in every direction against the tube axis direction of the surface and the inside of the metallic conduit H and wall thickness of the metallic conduit H can be detected. |
