PURPOSE:To increase an access angle of recording paper to a separation pad to improve a performance of separating paper one by one by determining the diameter of a separation roller to be a specific value or less. CONSTITUTION:With a separation roller 65 having a large diameter (38-40mm), an approach angle of recording paper to a separation pad 66 is relatively small (20-30 degrees). As a result, a drag of the separation pad acting on the recording paper is decreased. In addition, a frictional force acting on the separation pad is reduced for decreasing a back tension, thereby being inferior to a frictional force of the second and succeeding recording paper acting on the first recording paper to be fed, and a lap feed is very easy to generate. Therefore, if the diameter of the separation roller 65 is decreased to be 30mm or less, an approach angle to the pad 66 is as large as 30-45 degrees; therefore, a drag of the separation pad 66 on the recording paper is increased, and a separation performance is improved. In this manner, an overlapped feed is very hard to generate even if a frictional force on the separation pad is reduced for decreasing a back tension. |
