发明名称 OXIDATION CATALYZER COMBUSTOR FOR FUEL CELL
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration of a particular oxidation catalyzer layer and achieve a longer life by making the volume of a first stage oxidation catalyzer layer smaller than those of the successive oxidation catalyzer layers from the second stage one on, in a plurality of oxidation catalyzer layer stages. CONSTITUTION:The thickness of a first stage oxidation catalyzer layer 3 is made smaller than those of a second and a third stage oxidation catalyzer layers so that the volume of the first stage oxidation catalyzer layer is reduced and the optimum load value is achieved for the exhaust fuel gas amount and the exhaust air ampount at the time when the fuel cell has a low load. In this way, at the time when the fuel cell has a low load, the combustion is effected in the first stage oxidation catalyzer layer 3 at the optimum temperature without generating higher temperature for the exhaust fuel gas amount and the exhaust air ampount, and successively, unburnt exhaust fuel gas maintains the combustion in the oxidation catalyzer layer 4 and undergoes complete combustion in the oxidation catalyzer layer 5. On the other hand, at the time when the fuel cell has a high load, although the ignition temperature is lowered in the first stage oxidation catalyzer layer 3 due to the exhaust fuel gas and the exhaust air from the fuel cell, the combustion is maintained without extinction, and successively, the combustion is matintained in the oxidation catalyzer layer 4, and complete combustion is achieved in the oxidation catalyzer layer 5.
