PURPOSE:To produce a heat insulation material having a thin-walled coating and good mechanical strength, weather resistance, etc., by treating the surface of a polyolefin resin foam with a primer, coating the surface with a room temperature curing fluororesin soln. and drying it to cure the resin. CONSTITUTION:A tubular foam 1 extruded from an extruder 2 is expanded to achieve a required outer diameter, cooled in a chilling machine 3 to solidify it and fed to a primer treating tank 4 where a mixed soln. of a satd. polyester resin and a polyisocyanate is charged and a resin film is formed on the surface of the foam 1. The film is then cured by heating in a baking apparatus 5. The resulting foam 1 is coated with a room temperature curing fluororesin soln. in a coating tank 6 and dried in a dryer 7 to cure the resin, whereby a thin, tough film is formed. The foam is then passed through a take-up apparatus 8, cut in lengths by a cutter 9 and accumulated in a stocker 10. |
