PURPOSE:To make it possible to cool an affected part on a skin so as to perform a treatment such as moxibustion by pressing a cooling unit using a base agent prepared by mixing urea and ammonium nitrate together and a coolant including saline water containing 2 to 20wt.% of salinity, to the affected part. CONSTITUTION:Powder-like form urea 2 and particle-like form ammonium nitrate 3 are mixed together in a substantially cylindrical cooling unit body 1 made of hard polyethylene resin. Saline water 8 of about 5% concentration is disposed in a hollow saline water storage body 7 made of soft synthetic resin. When a press member 9 is pressed, the saline water storage body 7 is deformed so as to be broken. Accordingly, saline water flows into the cooling unit body 1 from the body 7, and acts upon the urea 2 in the cooling unit body 1 so that the temperature of the inside of the cooling unit body 1 lowers down to -5deg.C. Since aluminum having a high thermal conductivity is deposited on a bottom plate 5 in the cooling unit body 1, the cooling condition in the body 1 is rapidly transmitted to an affected part on a skin 13 so as to carry out moxibustion. |
