PURPOSE:To produce the title isotropic permanent magnet alloy having an excellent magnetic characteristic as cast by forming a molten alloy consisting of Cr, Co, and Fe and having a specified composition into a thin ingot having a specified thickness by the thin-slab caster method, and applying specified cooling to the ingot. CONSTITUTION:The molten alloy contg. 10-35wt.% Cr, 5-35wt.% Co, 0.01-5.00wt.% of at least one kind among B, Si, Al, Mo, W, Mn, Ti, V, Nb, Zr, Sn, and Zn as required, and the balance Fe is formed into a thin ingot having 20-50mm thickness by the thin-slab caster method. The thin ingot is successively cooled from >=900 deg.C to 700 deg.C at a rate of >=5 deg.C/S to obtain an alpha-single phase structure. The quenching is stopped at 700 deg.C, and then the thin ingot is annealed to room temp. at a rate of <= about 40 deg.C/h. By this method, an isotropic permanent magnet alloy having an excellent magnetic characteristic as cast is obtained with no need for the solution treatment, ageing treatment, etc., after casting. |
