PURPOSE:To obtain a vertically long can type container with bottom for which a retort treatment can be done, which has a good gas barrier property, and which is suitable for storage for a long period of time by providing the container with an inner drum, which is composed of a cylindrical shaped drum made of a multi-layer basic material and a bottom part which is made by closing the drum, and a synthetic resin outer drum which is bonded to the outer surface of the inner drum. CONSTITUTION:One side end of the lateral both side ends of a rectangular shaped multi-layer basic material 14 with gas barrier property is bent outward by a width which is required for sealing. The other side end is placed over this side end and heat-sealing is performed to make a cylindrical body. For the cylindrical body 18, the peripheral wall of the bottom part is bent inward and closed to give a bottom part, and an inner drum is formed. A folding line 19 to form this bottom part is shown by a dotted line, and a part 20 to be folded is folded inside of the cylindrical body 18. On the upper surface of the bottom part of a formed inner drum 23, a circular shaped synthetic resin film or sheet 28 is heat-sealed. The inner drum 23 is fitted in the hollow part of an outer drum 29, i.e., an outer drum which has a bottom part, of which upper part is open and which is made of a synthetic resin cylindrical shaped hollow body. Then, the outer surface of the inner drum 23 and the inner surface of the outer drum 29 are heat-bonded.
