PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a print excellent in temperature resistance and adhesion to a substrate such as a can, can be definitely decolorized or discolored by wet heating, and can indicate sterilization by dissolving a specified cyanine dye in an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:A cyanine dye (a) of the formula (wherein Y and Y' are each O, S, Se, NH, -CH=CH- or the like; R and R' are each an alkyl, X is a halogen atom, and n is 0-3), e.g., C, I, Basic Red 14, and 2-15 pts.wt., per pt.wt. component (a), phenolic resin (b) (e.g., alkylphenol resin) are dissolved in an aliphatic lower alcohol (c) (e.g., ethanol), and the solution is heated. Then component (c) is distilled from the solution to obtain a cyanine dye (A) in the form of a salt with the phenolic resin. Component A in such an amount that 0.1-5wt.% cyanine dye and 0.2-30wt.% phenolic resin are present in the obtained composition is dissolved in an organic solvent (B) (e.g., ethanol). |
