PURPOSE:To improve a working efficiency by correcting an image forming means based on results obtained by detecting a dormant state. CONSTITUTION:A developing pattern of a white reference pattern 28 is used as a reading pattern part for correcting a reference developing bias voltage and the bias voltage is corrected with the detection output by a P sensor 5 and the detection output by the sensor 5 for the density of a basic surface of a photosensitive body 20. In the case of measuring the density of the basic surface, the circumference of the photosensitive body 20 is divided in equal parts so as to read the density and the mean value is taken as an output value. In the case of detecting the dormant state, a drum thermistor 10 and a fixing thermistor 11 are provided, and the values of both thermistors 10 and 11 are read by an AN port at the time of turning a power source on. Then, by performing the decision whether or not it is necessary to correct the image forming means at first, only when it is necessary to correct it, the reference developing bias voltage is corrected, so that the correction can be performed with efficiency and the useless consumption of electric power can be prevented and also the lives of the parts can be prevented from being shortened. |
