PURPOSE:To allow focusing to the subject desired by a photographer by specifying the subject point to be matched with the focus from the subject image in a finder by display marks, measuring the distance at the specific subject point by a distance measuring means and executing focus control. CONSTITUTION:A display plate 24 has the display marks 24a to 24c formed of a liquid crystal member and is so driven by a driving circuit 40 that the corresponding display marks are displayed in accordance with the area selected by a selecting circuit device 23. Namely, the subject point to be focused is specified by selecting the display marks 24a to 24e from the entire image of the subject which can be checked in the visual field of the finder. The distance measuring means is so selected as to measure the distance of the specific subject point according to the selection of the display marks 24a to 24e. The distance measurement of the specific selected subject point is executed in succession thereof and the photographing lens moves according to the information on the distance measurement, by which the focus control is executed. The photographer's will is effectively utilized in this way even in photographing of the subject having depth or the subject in which the subjects of a front scene exit here and there. |
